Sports Photography "for" Sports Enthusiasts - The Sessions

So, you are one of the thousands of hockey moms and soccer dads that recently bought a new camera. You bought it with hopes of capturing magazine quality images of your children just like the pros do. As a matter of fact, the employee of some big-box store told you to "Buy the digital SLR, or this advanced point-and-shot camera if you want to get good sports photos." "The money you spend now you will save by not paying for pictures of your kids over the next twelve years." they said. Herein lies the problem. You now own the camera but of the 2,366 pictures you have taken, not one of them looks quite like the ones you see inside the magazines or on the web sites.

If the above paragraph sounds familiar, or, you would just like to learn more about sports photography, read on. I would like to help.

Everyday I get asked the same questions. "How do you do it?" "Why don't my pictures look like that?" "What kind of camera is that and is it better than mine?" "Why is the ice in all my hockey shots grey?" "Why do all my pictures look like snapshots?" "What settings are you using?" I used to ignore these questions, or come up with some useless answer, mostly out of fear that I would somehow lose business or that, if I answered, you would then know "my secrets". Not anymore, I can not possibly handle all of the demand for sports images and you have bought that camera, you should know how to use it!

If you are one of the people asking the above questions, or would like to but haven't, if you live in southern Saskatchewan and would like to learn more about sports photography, I am willing to answer your questions. I will let you in on some of the "secrets" of photography that can be applied in both sports and other photography areas.

If you have an SLR camera (film or digital), or an advance point-and-shoot camera (one with manual settings), three (3) hours, and $249.00 plus gst, I will help you improve your sports photography.

Modeling Opportunities

Are you an aspiring model just starting out? Perhaps you are an experienced professional looking to add new and creative images to your portfolio? TFCD (your Time in exchange For CD) sessions are available for the right models. Perhaps you have some awe inspiring ideas for a shoot or just want some more time in front of the camera.

We also need models who are not models. Women, Men, Good Looking or Aesthetically Challenged, Athletes, Professionals, Tradespeople... Especially women between the age of 25 and 50 in "non-traditional" working roles. If you do something... we want to take your photo. This is not about standing in front of a camera in a studio, this is about capturing an activity, telling a story and you are playing the lead roll. What's in it for you? Experience in front of the camera and free professional photos (TFCD) of yourself doing what you do... E-mail and we'll discuss the details.

We are once again adding to our list of models and updating existing Model Profiles. To book an interview or if I have already worked with you and you wish to update your status please call
535-5997. The coming year will see a variety projects both in and around Regina. Some of them may even help pay the bills.

Please Note: Images provided TFCD are of web quality and for your personal non-commercial usage only. Models must sign a model release for images captured to participate in this program.
